About the Show

On December 6, the Hippodrome Foundation invited 2,000 students from Baltimore City and County to experience Broadway, many for the first time, in an exclusive matinee performance of Anastasia. Tony-winning costume designer Linda Cho was in attendance for the matinee event and offered students from the Baltimore Design School ‚Äča backstage tour and sneak peek at the intricate costumes, which are inspired by 18th century Paris and Russia, from the touring production of the hit Broadway musical. In partnership with The Broadway League, students from BDS discussed the design process and inspiration for their own version of Anastasia’s iconic blue dress, which marks her first entrance into the royal world. The students’ hand-crafted dress will be on display in the lobby of The Hippodrome Theatre for the duration of the show’s Baltimore engagement.
